Feb 2 Is Another Sunshiny Friday on Sanibel

 

 

It’s another sunshiny Friday on the islands today. With highs this week struggling to get over 70 degrees F, the bright days have been a plus for the many outdoor workers helping with restoration. Forecasters are calling for a 95% chance of rain Sunday, then more sunshine with temps expected to get back into the mid-70’s by the middle of next week. Florida winter weather is the best! Usually, the highest temps in the nation are recorded in SW FL.

Island Eats

Sunshine Seafood Café & Wine Bar – Fans of Chef Ryan Kida, best known as Chef/Owner of Yabo in Ft Myers, will be happy to hear that he is the new Executive Chef at Sunshine Cafe on Captiva which is open for dinner Tues-Sat from 5 until 9 p.m.

Tutti Pazzi – Starting today Tutti Pazzi Italian Kitchen is expanding their hours and will again be serving lunch every day starting at 11:30 a.m. (except Tues when they are closed). Also take-out pizza from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. They serve dinner until 9 p.m.

Sanibel & Captiva Islands Real Estate News

It was a full-house Wed night at the local Association of Realtors® annual event to install new officers/directors and present awards for 2023. It was the first time many attendees had been back to The Dunes clubhouse where the sunset views still are terrific, and the new interior looks much like pre-Ian. Service was great and buffet delish.

 

2024 Board of Directors

Congratulations to all leaders and award winners! 2023 Honor Society had 18 Realtors® (including SanibelSusan) and four affiliate members (Dave Arter with Private Client Insurance Services, Dana Coin with Decorating Den, Amanda Curran with Superior Title, and Gus Simmons with Simmons & Cook PLLC.

Nine new SCIS (Sanibel & Captiva Islands Specialists) were recognized, and awards were presented to Administrative Assistant of the Year (Kim

2023 Affiliate Honor Society

Alexander), Affiliate Business Partner of the Year (Amanda Curran), Community Service Award (Cathie Lewis), Realtor® of the Year (Greg Demaras), President’s Award (George Kohlbrenner), and Association Wall of Fame (Art Corace, Robin Humphrey, and Ray Ochester). Past Presidents who served at total of 16 years (including SanibelSusan) were recognized and passed the gavel to 2024 Prez Brendan Albright who was inducted along with eight board members.

2023 Realtor Honor Society

Coming up Tues is the Feb Professional Development Committee Meeting and the mandatory annual training for those serving on the 2024 Grievance and Professional Standards Committees. SanibelSusan chairs Professionals Standards.
