It has been another picture-perfect week for island residents and visitors – usually sunny warm and breezy.
As the shared-use paths stay busy and “season” traffic continues, I was surprised Tuesday when I drove off island at 11 a.m. and saw vehicles coming onto the island backed up beyond the toll booth. Luckily it was much easier going the day before when teammate Dave came on island at 10 a.m. Yesterday was also easy when our photographer came at 9 a.m. to film a new listing. Day-to-day, traffic can change, particularly during what is traditionally one of the busiest weeks here.
With surrounding bay and gulf waters still brilliant blue, driving alongside pelicans, and enjoying the causeway view is best with the windows open. Even after doing it for decades, every trip is special.

During the same time, there were seven new residential listings, four back-on-market listings (that were under contract), and a whopping 28 price changes.
On the commercial side, the 720 Tarpon Bay Rd, the historic building that was the former home of Lily & Co. Jewelry, closed this week for $950K.
